Start by making a list of gifts you were given, who attended your wedding and who your suppliers were on the day.
Making a list of who you need to write thank you cards for will make your life a lot easier - like your invitations, you want to send 1 thank you card per household, couple, family, or single guest, and if you want to include your vendors/suppliers, make sure you allow 1 per company. This will not only let you know how many thank you cards you need to order, but will also mean that if you're handwriting your thank you messages, you can get personal by thanking each guest for the specific gift they gave you.
Stick to a timeline to send out your thank you cards.
You don't want this last wedding task hanging over your heads as you enjoy your newlywed state and start of your marriage, so try and make sure your thank you cards are ready to send 2 to 3 months after your wedding. However, life can be crazy, so don't be too hard on yourself if it gets in the way - thank you card etiquette does give you a bit of leeway by stating as long as you send them out before your first anniversary (12 months), you'll be fine. We still say get it sorted as soon as you have the energy for it, though - there's better things you and your love can do with your time!

Not only will you give yourself a bad case of tendonitis or carpal tunnel, you'll drive yourself nuts! Our best advice for handwriting your thank you cards is to sit down with your love, divide the workload between you equally, and then set how many thank you cards you want to write or a time limit on how long you spend on it - say an hour or half an hour a night. Take your time and do it together.

It never hurts to get a second and third person to check your wording! You get so used to what you've written that your brain automatically scans the first and last letters of each word, so you may skip any tiny typos just because you've been looking at your wording for too long. So get friends or fam to do a check for you just to be safe.
