creating the perfect thank you card wording is easy!

We've got you covered with a few different thank you card wording templates to fit every style and vibe in a handy downloadable PDF.

But, don't forget these 3 key points!
♥ Be timely! Most people expect a reply within 2-3 months.
♥ Write notes to everyone you invited, even if they didn't give you a gift. And consider sending a thank you note to your vendors or suppliers as well - it'll make their day to know that you loved what they created for you.
♥ Include detail in your notes. If you’re thanking the recipient for a physical gift, make sure you mention that item. But if they gave cash, you don’t need to mention exact monetary amounts.

Don't know how to write a thank you card? We've got you covered!
Not only do we have the handy PDF document you can download with some great thank you card wording examples, it also has our super easy thank you card wording generator worksheet in it to make writing your thank you cards easy. We've also got some extra tips below for you to save you stress and worry.

Start by making a list of gifts you were given, who attended your wedding and who your suppliers were on the day.
Making a list of who you need to write thank you cards for will make your life a lot easier - like your invitations, you want to send 1 thank you card per household, couple, family, or single guest, and if you want to include your vendors/suppliers, make sure you allow 1 per company. This will not only let you know how many thank you cards you need to order, but will also mean that if you're handwriting your thank you messages, you can get personal by thanking each guest for the specific gift they gave you.

Stick to a timeline to send out your thank you cards.
You don't want this last wedding task hanging over your heads as you enjoy your newlywed state and start of your marriage, so try and make sure your thank you cards are ready to send 2 to 3 months after your wedding. However, life can be crazy, so don't be too hard on yourself if it gets in the way - thank you card etiquette does give you a bit of leeway by stating as long as you send them out before your first anniversary (12 months), you'll be fine. We still say get it sorted as soon as you have the energy for it, though - there's better things you and your love can do with your time!

Don't try and write everything in one go, if you're handwriting your thank you messages.
Not only will you give yourself a bad case of tendonitis or carpal tunnel, you'll drive yourself nuts! Our best advice for handwriting your thank you cards is to sit down with your love, divide the workload between you equally, and then set how many thank you cards you want to write or a time limit on how long you spend on it - say an hour or half an hour a night. Take your time and do it together.

Don't worry about writing a novel - your thank you card message can be short and sweet!
You don't need to go overboard when writing your thank you cards. You want to thank your guests for being there, for their love and support, for their gift if they've given one, and let them know how special they made your wedding day. We have some great wedding thank you card wording templates that are not only short and sweet, but heartfelt and genuine, so start there and adapt it to what you and your partner love best.

Triple-check your details and wording!
It never hurts to get a second and third person to check your wording! You get so used to what you've written that your brain automatically scans the first and last letters of each word, so you may skip any tiny typos just because you've been looking at your wording for too long. So get friends or fam to do a check for you just to be safe.

And that's it! Quick, easy, and not as scary as it looks, right? Right! But as always, if you need a bit of a hand or some suggestions to spice up your thank you card wording, just get in touch. We love to chat and we're always here to help!
