ENGAGEMENT INVITE WORDING

Need help crafting the perfect wording for your engagement invites? We're here with a free guide to putting together the wording of your dreams, with engagement invite wording templates to suit any style.

CONGRATULATIONS, YOU'RE ENGAGED!

It’s time to send out invites to celebrate with your family and friends. To help you, we’ve compiled an engagement invitation wording guide covering a range of styles and tones, from formal to casual and a few in-between, to give you a head start with your engagement invites!

While there are endless options to what your party could be, there are a few must-haves for the invitations to make sure your guests have all the information they need. Be sure to include:

♥ Your names, exactly how you want them to be printed.
♥ Your engagement party date.
♥ Venue names and addresses.
♥ Event start and finish times.
♥ RSVP-by date
♥ Dress code, if you’re having one.

Writing your engagement invitation wording shouldn't be difficult.
Along with the handy PDF of engagement wording inspo and the key points above, there's only a few other pointers you need to make your invitation wording perfect. Here's what we recommend.

Start strong - get that anticipation going.
Being newly engaged is exciting! Marrying your other half, your partner in crime, is the best thing ever! So why not get out of the gate with a catchy intro line on your invitations? Have some fun with it. To get the creativity flowing, here's a few of our favourite engagement invitation wording lines we've seen recently:

♥ Things just got real - we're engaged!
♥ He said how about it, she said YES!
♥ Let the engagement shenanigans commence!
♥ There's no going back now - Alice and Max are engaged.
♥ Gavin and Mitch are getting hitched - join them for an engagement party!
♥ Want free beer? (Also, we're engaged!)

Don't forget the details.
When you're writing your engagement invite wording out, make sure you've put in your start and finish times, the date in full - day, month, and year - and of course any addresses or venue names! You don't need to include a postcode, just the street and suburb. Also make sure that you've got your RSVP-by date and how you want your guests to RSVP (email or phone) and any information you or your engagement venue needs like dietary requirements or food allergies so you avoid any mishaps.

Pick and mix from our engagement wording templates and inspiration.
Download the PDF and don't be scared to grab parts from different wording templates and piece them together. All you need to do is make sure that if you're writing in a certain view - either first person (so our engagement, our families, our home) or third person (their engagement, their families, their home), it's consistent the whole way through and not chopping and changing.

Triple-check your details and wording!
It never hurts to get a second and third person to check your wording! You get so used to what you've written that your brain automatically scans the first and last letters of each word, so you may skip any tiny typos just because you've been looking at your wording for too long. So get friends or fam to do a check for you just to be safe.

And that's it! Quick, easy, and not as scary as it looks, right? Right! But as always, if you need a bit of a hand or some suggestions to spice up your invitation wording, just get in touch. We love to chat and we're always here to help!
