Dane and Jono getting married

It’s hard to believe that it’s already June (2022 is flying by!), but we’re so ready to fly our rainbow flag! To celebrate Pride Month, we are beyond excited to feature the gorgeous wedding of two of the most genuine and warm people we have had the pleasure of working with. These dapper gentlemen were the definition of ‘dream client’ and just all-around amazing human beings.

The wedding was like a good cocktail – it looked fantastic and was super classy. Dane and Jono were the picture of happiness and handsomeness in their black and white Tony Barlow and Penguins suits. The celebration was held at Long Chim in the heart of Perth’s CBD, which perfectly balanced the modern and whimsical with its street art, fairy lights and Chinese umbrellas, and the infallible Kenneth Lim was their photographer for the big day. Patricia Gallagher at Patricias Cake Place did an incredible job with the cake, perfectly capturing Dane and Jono’s classic elegance, fun and cheekiness. Dane and Jono’s invitations were designed to be modern with a classic element and are so luxe!

Congratulations Dane and Jono! It was a delight to work with you and we wish you the very best xo

On choosing Lala Design for their wedding stationery. ‘Our close friend Tara Clark from Blacklash MUA recommended the amazing Lala Design | Paper & Ink Team, and honestly how could you not choose them?’

"From the first query we made, which included purchasing a sample pack, we felt welcomed and inspired by what we saw."

Reflecting on the process. ‘Lala Design | Paper & Ink Studio made our lives so much easier with their simple step by step guide, the checklists, the roadmap on when items needed to be completed and then delivered. Not to mention the way they interpreted our vision… and their patience!’

"The entire experience was seamless… it was all pretty damn amazing!"

On seeing everything come together. ‘We made sure the day was just about us, the two of us, together in that moment and forever more. When we walked into our ceremony at Long Chim, we entered via different locations before coming together, and we’ll never forget our guests’ faces as they formed an “aisle” that we walked hand in hand through to our celebrant. The memory gets us every time and just a wry smile comes to our faces.’

"The coming together before the ceremony and walking through our guests as they ushered us towards our celebrant to get married, our long table, family style dinner and then party... It was just us. The perfect way to bring in our marriage."

Dane and Jono’s parting words of wisdom. ‘Enjoy the planning experience, do it together, listen to each other and be prepared to negotiate with each other on your must haves and your wants.’

"We just had the best day, the best party and most importantly we got to share it with the people we love most in the world. COVID prevented some of our immediate family being with us from South Africa however we are planning on partying and celebrating us with them very soon!"
